Re: New Games For the //e
In terms of games for the Apple IIe, Mitchell is mostly right. There
haven't been any commercial or shareware games made to my knowledge in
several years. However, there is one place where games are still being
written. If you are a fan of text-oriented roll-playing, there is a
public domain series called Eamon that's been around almost as long as
Apple computer itself. Currently, there are 240 games in this series due
to its age. They range from lousy to great with most in between. There
is still a club dedicated to releasing and evaluating these games that is
small but active. A good place to browse for the games and info about
them is ftp://ftp.gmd.de/if-archive/games/appleII/eamon. Also, if you
prefer the arcade type of game, all of the big Apple2 ftp sites have
some. The two best are ftp://ground.isca.uiowa.edu/apple2 and
ftp://apple2.caltech.edu/Zocalo/pub/apple2. Good luck.
