I think Lithium batteries by nature are 1.5v per cell and NiCd's are 1.2v
per cell thats why the difference. Cmos Rams, from what I remember are
good down to 2.4V so 3.0 should be OK. But jus to be safe, I'd put in a
BRAM checker to see if/when something changes.
