One other catch I could see with this product, your still using a
standard television set. As most people here know, most TV sets do not
have a high enough bandwidth to display 80 column text.
I would also question SVHS color quality compared with RGB. If I
remember correctly, SVHS works in a similar fashion to monitors with
separate chroma/luma inputs. In otherwords color and brightness is
feed through separate lines for improved color and picture quality.
My guess is this works somewhat like a Video Overlay Card when used
for outputing composite video from a IIgs (the GS already has an NTSC
out port, but in most cases you get a mess with native Super-Hi-Res
graphics. That is one of the reasons an RGB monitor is a requirement
for color). As much as I dislike the Second Sight, I would rather
get that and connect it to an SVGA monitor than a TV set (besides
which, TV have scanlines, stuck at 60 Hz refresh and have a less
lines of resolution and higher dot-pitch than PC monitors :). Do
word-processing on my TV? No thanks... ;-)
