Actually, the IIgs composite out was a far better than the earlier
Apple II's.  It was set at true NTSC levels while all the previous IIs
were set a little lower.  That is why I always got such a crappy
picture recording my //e on video.  The results were much better once
I upgraded to the IIgs.

However, you are correct that the VOC makes things even better.  I
even use the VOCs RGB out to my monitor instead of the motherboard one
because I find the colours more vibrant and the picture a little
brighter.  Mind you, I either have to plug the motherboard composite
out to the VOC's composite in or switch back to the motherboard RGB to
be able to view 3200 colour graphics properly.
