A New Orleans or Louisiana Usergroup?

I am trying to upgrade two IIgses, but have not been able to use the
ImageWriter printer or the external "MacPC Hard Drive" attached.  The
installation of the "updates" (for the attached printer and external
hard disk) seems impossible for lack of sufficient memory!!!  So, I
purchased a Sirius 8Meg RAM Card, but have not been able to startup from
the RAM disk. (Well, actually, I did succeed ONE TIME only, but have
been unable to repeat the feat!

The "Installer" does not seem to be able to install the DCImageWriter
driver or script.  By the way, where in H*ll does on put installation
"SCRIPTS"

As a "newbie" I am looking for tutorial HELP!!!  Is there a usergroup in
the "Big Easy" or adjacent environs?     --Everett
