Re: SIS, Marinetti, & SS

Question--

One of the stumbling blocks preventing SIS from downloading graphics (or
anything else, as I understand it) is its inability to speak in binary.
Okay. Maybe there is a way around that; maybe not. Assuming there is...

The second stumbling block is that most graphics out on the 'Web are .GIF
and .JPG files. The IIgs can download them OK, but displaying can be a
major pain in the nether regions due to the decompression time, at least
on an unaccellerated machine (like mine). With that in mind...

Would it be practical to include some means for SIS to display Apple
][-native graphic images? While *most* web pages limit themselves to .GIF
and .JPG graphics, why not make it possible for someone developing an
Apple ][ page to include graphics in, say, .APF to be displayed inline by SIS?

It's just a thought...came from looking at literature about Psion's
palmtop web browser that can't handle .JPG or .GIF images (and they would
look awful on the Psion screen anyway...) but CAN handle Psion .PIC files
just fine...and I have never seen a web page built with .PICs... 8-)

Note: I don't have Spectrum OR SIS...yet.
