     It appears that, in the process of writing and reading memory, the 
self-test routine detected an incorrect value for at least one byte. The 
error was at the bit position indicated.

     Try swapping the middle two RAM IC's. If the display changes, to

                  R A M   0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0

it is a pretty good indication that the suspect RAM IC is bad.

     If the display does not change, you may have a gunked-up socket 
(e.g. via an old Coke spill, etc.) or a socket with a loose or broken 
connection.

     There is a chance that just swapping the IC's will eliminate the 
problem. If it does, you probably had a memory IC which was making poor 
contact at one or more socket points.
