   The Apple-made GS Memory expansion card accepts up to 3 additional
banks of 256Kx8 (not x1; you need 8 of them to get 256K) in addition
to the one bank already soldered on. The comp.sys.apple2 FAQ at
http://www.visi.com/~nathan/a2/faq/csa2.html section 7.7 "How much RAM
is in my Apple II?" has a simple and reliable method of determining
total RAM in a GS-- using control panel/Ramdisk, add 256K to the entry
under 'Largest Selectable'. That counts all ram that GS-specific
programs can easily use.
