Hey, dont laugh. I had a guy a week ago I sold a new pentium to that kept
bringing it back week after week saying the modem wouldnt initialise or work.
Finally after showing him it was fine three weeks in a row, he rang me up and
told me he solved the problem. He had the power cord plugged in, the phone line
plug in, but didnt have the serial cable hooked up between the modem and the pc.
I wouldnt be surprised if your guy did the same. ;-)
