Software for the IIGS
Ron asked if there was any dtp software for the IIGS.
Sure, lots.
For actual page layout, GraphicWriter III version 2.0 is the best.
Available from Seven Hills Software (http://www.sevenhills.com/).
AppleWorks GS also has a page layout module. You can buy that from
Alltech Electronics (http://www.allelec.com/).
Lots of graphics software. For creation you can use Platinum Paint,
Deluxe Paint, CheapPaint (shareware) and Dream Graphix, as well as
AppleWorks GS.
For graphics conversion, there's Convert 3200 (Shareware Solutions II,
http://www.crl.com/~joko/), SuperConvert (Seven Hills again) and Prism
(Other World Computers, but good luck getting through).
No flatbed scanner software worth mentioning. You can get a Quickie
hand scanner on the used market, but best bet is using a scanning
service such as Mike Westerfield's (Byte Works, email: MikeW50@aol.com)
or Kinko's.
Save as a GIF for conversion in Convert 3200 or SuperConvert, or save
as a BMP for C3200.
