Some Macs running some Systems are supposed to be able to format
800k ProDOS diskettes which can be used on a GS. If your Mac can do this,
you may be able to find and download non-packed or Mac-packed versions of
Apple II ProDOS, ShrinkIt, Copy II Plus 8.3, etc. and move them via
diskette to your GS.
Otherwise, you will need to do modem downloads to your GS from Apple
II BBS's and/or do NULL modem transfers of wares downloaded from the net
via your Mac or PC. Of course, this requires, at least, a telecom program
on a bootable diskette. That is, you can't get what you need unless you
have what you need!
By far, your best solution is to get someone to send you a bootable
ProDOS 'getting-started' diskette which includes copy, unpacker, and
telecom utilities.
