One last thing...
I can prove right here and right now that the atmosphere here on csa2 is
less than conducive for the free-flowing sharing of Apple II information.
On Genie, CompuServe and Delphi, Apple II users are ecstatic today about
the bomb-shell news that was dropped at KansasFest. Yet, here on csa2,
not one of those people who attended Kfest has even bothered to share that
news.
Now, think about that for a bit, and ask yourself why that could be.
I can supply a small hint...
The Australian programmer who last week demo'ed the most earth-shaking
IIGS telecomm development ever (and, no, I'm not talking about Spectrum
Internet Suite) is currently csa2's favorite target of flamers, lamers
and pirates.
Can you blame him for not wanting to share that info with csa2? I can't.
And, don't ask me about it either. As much as I'd love to share my
excitement with people here, the pirates have forced me to spend my time
on the net in other persuits...such as battling the forces of evil.
When those forces of evil are gone from csa2, I and every other Apple II
developer will feel like we can, once again, share our knowledge and
enthusiasm with everyone here. Until then, if you love the Apple II, you
might seriously consider getting an account on one of the online services
where the Apple II isn't under terrorist attack, and where people
actually have fun and share their knowledge, and NEVER get into flame fests.
I have no great desire to see csa2 moderated, but at this point, I will
not be swayed from my resolve. The pirates have left me no alternative.
