Re: The Apple IV

Instead of a 64-bit system, why stop there? Make it a 128-bit with 3d
acceleration. Write some new code into a GS/OS7 to support multiple
processors running in parallel. I'd plug in PIIs (Arguably the hottest
processor on the market until the PPc 620 ships...) Write the emulation in
MMX code. Im thinking, since P2s are 32 bit processors, chain them in
pairs of 4. 2 sets. Maybe 256 Mb of RAM, with each set of processors
getting access 128 Mb each. Keep the old expansion board design, but add
in some PCI slots. Run the motherboard at 100mhz, processors at 300. Nice
multiplyer of 3:1. SCSI 2 Wide/Fast for the HDs, with expansion
possibilities for FireWire. Built in ISND modem, USB, Flopitical drive,
DVD, Jaz drive, and Serial ports supporting speeds up to 460.8kbps (v.42
on a 56k modem Oh yeah!) I think thats it. Anything you want to add, go
ahead.
