I guess I could answer this with another question: What CAN'T an apple
][ user do with their computer??? ;-)
Over the last couple of months I've actually reverted back to my ]['s
more than ever. As I'm still at university I have assignments and
stuff to do. I have a Pentium 166 with 40 MB of RAM but I'd much
rather use my ][e for wordprocessing and spreadsheets. With my HP 550
printer attached to it I can print just as well as under Microsoft's
Word. At 1 MHz with 128k RAM it runs 10 times faster using appleworks
than my P166 runs MS Office and they are pretty much the same. If I
want the fancier graphics and text then I'll just use my GS with
Appleworks GS. I mean, what's the use of all the other crud like
mailmerge and other business stuff built into office to me??
I often go on the net from my ][e also as without all the graphics
loading, banner ads etc, it ends up 3 times faster than the Pentium.
This is great when just after information, telnetting, IRC etc.
As for game play....who needs Quake when you have Snakebyte, Airheart
and Mr Do on the Apple ][ ;-) Nothing beats the classics.
