What do you do with an Apple //?

OK, I'll bite. I used to defend Apple ]['s vehemently. My Uncle was a
PC user, told me Apple ]['s sucked (in so many words). I said Apples
were nice, friendy, and cuddly. I knew my ][e inside and out. For a
twelve year old I knew quite a bit, messed with Merlin, had tons of
Beagle Brothers stuff, Pascal, etc.
I got older, Appleworks was great for school. It runs faster the MS
Word, no doubt. Used a //c for the first half of college.

Then, I bought a PC. Wow. No comparison (to a //c). My question is,
and I'm not dissing the II as I loved it, what do you do with a IIgs
these days? Are they powerful? Are they fast? Are they still around
just for word processing and stuff?

The thought that people are still writing Apple ][ software and making
hardware amazes me. And then I hear that the C64 is still around?
Wow. I know it's not a price thing, cause you can get a used PC for
~$400.

Please, this isn't an insult in the PC/MAC genre. I'm just curious what
the Apple ][ user in 1997 does with their computer still. Thanks.
