ProDOS 8 2.0.3 - SmartPort on any slot?

Will ProDOS 8 version 2.0.3 recognize SmartPort devices on slots
OTHER than 5?  I seem to remember being able to use more than 2
partitions off my RamFast SCSI in slot 7 under P8 2.0.3 - right?
Could a SmartPort device in slot 6 provide access to more than 2
devices?  I sure hope so...  Any input is welcome.
