It might be a broken key-switch. If that is the case:
I had a ][+ that had a broken P key. I was able to unsolder that
keyswitch from the keyboard and replace it with the one from my right
Shift key.
(It is the only redundant key on the apple keyboard). Of course, the
system now looks like a smile with a missing tooth, but it works.
