     Darn. When you mentioned the 768k problem and config options it 
sounded like some early Apple GS 1MB mem expansion card prototype from 
which a previous owner had pulled chips. Alas, I known zilch about IIe 
mem cards. (The no-768k business is, probably, something you've heard in 
reference to the GS 1MB mem exp card. I don't know that it applies to any 
1MB Apple IIe memory cards.)

     What kind of Apple memory expansion card are you trying to populate? 
Maybe, with a few more details, someone who knows about IIe memory cards 
will be able to help.
