Kensington made an attractive, platinum-color ADB trackball for GS, Mac
SE, and Mac II called "TurboMouse ADB 3.0". It has a large, 2" ball, two
buttons, and offers automatic resolution-switching-- if you move the ball
fast the unit auto-switches to a fast cursor.

Unfortunately for many GS users, TurboMouse was developed using later
model ROM-01 GS's and not tested on older ROM-01's. As Kensington later
discovered, Apple included an ADB Controller IC modification with the later
ROM-01's.

It turns out that TurboMouse just 'kind of works' on the earlier
ROM-01's. You can move the cursor around; but, the unit will not respond
to GS mouse speed settings, auto-resolution-switching does not function,
left-to-right response does not equal right-to-left response, and the special
button commands do not work.

On the other hand, a Mac-user friend loves TurboMouse's feel and
compactness. If you prefer a trackball and your GS is a late-1987 or newer
model, you may want to give TurboMouse a try. TurboMeese typically sell for
$25-$35 at swap meets.
