I saw the metal plate when I examined the machine.  Now I know what its
for.  The only slot-looking thing on the outside of the machine that I
see is on the left side.  It doesn't look like a traditional slot, but
more like an expansion chassis connector of some sort.  I generally
treat the machine as an Apple IIc, and it seems to be fine with that.
It runs most of the stuff that I have (other than audio programs that
require Mockingboard or other such add-on hardware).  Thanks for your
