Read this and had to reply in a similar vein:

The local telephone company, US West, ran some ads last year in promo of
their messaging service.  There was a series of photos of answering
machines in garbage cans, and in two of the photos the item in the can
was clearly a Commodore cassette drive for a VIC=20...
