While I was looking for info on various RGB-based conversions, I did

RGBS in, and your choice of component, S-Video, and composite out. (I
suspect it still won't play nicely with HDTVs, at least on the
component outputs, because it's not changing the timing, it's just
changing the color encoding.)


Would using a IIgs-to-SCART and SCART-to-VGA adapter work?  Or would
there be problems with the frequency rate?


And to clarify, I'm in North America, where TVs don't have SCART
connections, so I can't use a straight IIgs-to-SCART converter.  I
would need to convert it into some other format to be able to use it
with a TV.


IIgs-to-SCART is just a cable problem, so just go RGB-to-VGA, with all
the inherent clock speed problems of affordable converters (vertical
banding on the IIgs desktop, for example).
