Re: Old sound files



I have some old //e-style 1-bit sound samples.
I'd like to convert these files into a more standard format playable
by the GS programs (SoundStudio, AudioZap, etc.) and Mac/PC programs.

I'll try to find those programs, but a resampler isn't exactly what I
need.

  My files consist of a bunch of delays between speaker clicks.  Modern
sound files consist of (I think) a waveform to be played at a uniform
rate.  By by assuming each "click" is a square wave, I might be able to
write a program to convert the former format to the latter, but I was
hoping someone else had already done it.  I'm also not sure about that
assumption about clicks.

  The folks who wrote those 5- and 6-bit sound players for the //e
might have something to add; I'll probably email them if they aren't
listening to this discussion.
