Strangely enough, I do have the MegaBuff expansion for the ImageWriter 
II.  I have both the 8P and P drivers installed on my hard drive.  But no 
matter which I select, when I try to print to the DeskWriter from 
AppleWorks (using the DeskJet 500 appleworks driver) I get garbage.  What 
am I doing wrong, Scott?
