By rich I meant GUI .... sorry. 

After all the 2 (mac and //) are like apples<g> and oranges so
to speak. Only useful things you could do across a connection
are share devices or use a server disk. The later is what I was 
after, to be able to archive my // stuff on a hardfile and run 
it through some kind of selection menu across the wire.

Sorry for the multiple posts .... my connection is flakey today
and I keep losing stuff.
