You're right, there's precious little enthusiasm to be found here. Most
of what you find is the woe-is-us-evil-Apple-rooked-us-when-they-decided-
to-introduce-new-products piss and moan. That's definitely tiresome and
could drive away new readers. I started reading this group when it was
still named comp.sys.apple, around the time I got my shiny new signature
edition IIgs. Sure was different in those days. I suspect that a lot of
the whiners here were still sucking their thumbs and crapping their
diapers when Apple IIIs and Lisas were in stores. Or at least still had
training wheels on their bikes. It's a head scratcher to me how they presume
to be such shrewd analysts of the state of the computer industry in those
days. In any event, back in the comp.sys.apple days, people were too busy
using their equipment and exchanging ideas to sit around and gripe. Of course,
those were the days when only colleges, big companies, and the precious few
commercial ISPs were on the net. But that's the subject of another lament.

All I can say is if you abandon the group to the whiners, you've let them
take over and no useful info will ever be seen here. That's one reason why
I still hang out here.
