On the Apple ][?  143k/side.  Note that Apple ]['s (for the most part...I
realize that there is all kinds of exotic hardware out there, so no
blanket statement will be completely accurate) use single-sided 5.25" disk
drives...to use the other side you need to notch the disk and flip it over.

3.5" disks on the Apple are 800k or (rarely on the A][) 1.44Mb.

By comparison, standard disk sizes in the PC world seem to be...
5.25":  180/360k, 1.2Mb
3.5":  720k, 1.44Mb, 2.88Mb
