The fact that Macintosh Inc stopped supporting the Apple II and continued to
sell it for several years afterward has a fairly large bearing on current
use of Apple II computers, given that it's created the current situation the
machine is in.

You cannot love both the Apple II and the Macintrash.  It's not truly possible.
