Help! ][e won't boot!

I just installed a RAM 80z in my //e.

The problem is that a boot does not even happen:  there is no system
beep, the drives are not polled, the screen comes up in double lores
mode.  Control-OA-Reset does *nothing*.

If I remove the 80z and replace it with the original 64/80 card, it
works fine.  However, before you blame the 80z, I've tried EXACTLY
the same thing with a totally different card (also 1 meg) and it
produces EXACTLY the same problem.

The //e is one of the older models, which has been enhanced with the
//e enhancement kit.  Double hires *does* work with the 64/80 card.
