If some schools are doing this, the practice is deplorable. Most
students don't even have typewriters (they sell for $100-$300 these
days) and a IIe with AppleWorks is light years more useful than
a typewriter. The GUI based IIgs is even more useful. It can
be used to teach music (the 32 oscillator wavetable synthesis
Ensoniq DOC sound chip helps), has an interface like the Mac,
and can use TrueType fonts, desktop publish, and has drivers to use
PostScript printers.

Not only is it useful for K-12, Apple IIe and IIgs computers are
still used often at the college level, especially for uses
involving data input from research (eg. physiological data).

But Randy, he's a SELLER. We're supposed to give GOOD advice so
that he can get the best sale value.

Agreed. And the IIGS uses the same GUI as the Mac and the same ADB
bus, so why would anyone associate it with "PC" and "command line"?

It does have the option of the UNIX interface (with GNO/ME), unlike
the Mac where you have no choice.

That Quadra seems a bit undervalued at $400. But seriously, when
you are getting a computer for word processing, it really makes
not much of a difference. I'd rather have the GS (unless you want
to unload that Quadra for $150. :)

csa2 folks don't like to see BS either. It is just that we see your
anti-Apple II attacks as BS also. I don't see why you Mac advocates
are giving the seller a hard time.
