At your suggestion, I read the transcript of the meeting between BAAUG 
and Apple that is on your web page.  It's not surprising that they chose 
to handle the Apple II as they did.  Most companies are that way.  Too 
short-sighted to avoid shooting themselves in the foot.  [sigh]

Yes, it would have been, with the proper advertising and distribution.  
As would the Atari ST, Commodore Amiga, or any number of other, 
lesser-known computing platforms.  Sadly, those companies also missed the 
boat, for various reasons.  Now we have set-top boxes for "surfing the 
web."  If they'd wanted to, they could have turned their machines into 
the same thing, and done it earlier.  Most importantly, they would have 
been able to say, "Buy our GS Web Browser, and you're not only getting a 
web browser, you're getting a whole computer, with a wide selection of 
software and hardware add-ons available."  More missed opportunities...
