I would appreciate anyone familiar with the Apple 2e to try and provide
me with some assistance.
I am trying to find out if there is an easy way to move some data that
currently resides on an Apple 2e to an IBM platform. One of the local
gradeschools has asked if I could assist them with getting the data out
of their database on the Apple and put it in a Microsoft Access
database. (Please, I'm not advocating that it should be moved, but just
trying to find out how to do it.)
About the only way I can think of is to either use a modem or serial
port and route a text file to a common site that both machines can get
to. But, to do this, I believe I would need some type of communication
software on the Apple. To top things off, I don't know what type of
software they are using on this Apple nor do I know what components the
system has.
If there is anyone who could possibly shed some light on this, I would
greatly appreciate it.
Feel free to e-mail me at williapo@maritz.com or just reply to this
message.
In advance, my appreciation.
Thanks.
Pete
