: posts to Apple II related newsgroups. I understand the frustration of
: seeing posts concerning any issues which might possibly frighten away
: newbies to the Apple II. When I first started to read this newsgroup, I
: was more shocked by the wide variety of prices on items and availability of
: more modern items (SCSI hard drives, Second Sight card, CD-ROM capability)
: than the Nathan Mates vs. Tom Turley postings. I also understand that this
: is a newsgroup and basically, anything can be posted to it, as such. For
: example, we have messages concerning 10,000 nudes CD's, internet business
: kits, and the ever-prevalent get rich quick schemes. As time went by, I
: learned to scan for messages which concerned my particular areas of
: interest within the newgroups and to pass up those items which didn't suit
: my tastes. Perhaps the negativity will slow, but just as the get rich
: quick schemes, will never go away. Thank you for taking your time to read
: this.

The spam postings are autocancelled rather rapidly. I've read
csa2 for about 5 years and the signal/noise ratio has always been
poor. I guess us anachronist A2 users have a high percentage of
dissident personalitys. I find some of it intertaining.

Usenet is free and public, flameing is childish. (Or vice-versa.)
