I pushed my 25 year-old CPM card a little too far today. Everything is humming along just fine, then I do a Ctrl-Reset on the Apple and the next thing you know, I get the "No Z80 Card Found" message. Something definitely overheated. The card was pretty warm when I took it out of the slot. It would be a shame to let such a lovely card die, so does anyone have schematics they can share or any tips on what is likely to go bad on these cards?
The Applicard is very "meat and potatoes" in terms of chips. Regardless of what failed it should be simple to fix. I have the schematic and will get it scanned and posted to the Yahoo A2 CP/M group as soon as time permits.
One thing to check: A marginal A2 power supply can cause this type of problem. Do you have another to substitute?
