    I think I would say 8 MHz (or somewhere close to that speed) smooths
out the performance of the IIgs, but 15 MHz actually makes it feel fast. 
The 15/64 was rather what I was expecting when I bought an 8/16 several
years ago.

    Now that you mention it, that is true. I took it for granted mostly.
I quite often have the IIgs Finder (15 MHz) and Windows 95 (133 MHz/5x86)
running at the same time, switching between the two on the same desk. I
truely don't feel any drop in speed moving between the two GUIs.

    I need to check that with a digital stopwatch, but roughly 4-5 seconds
with a shift-boot. Needless to say, even with with all the extensions that
are loaded in (the entire bottom row of my System 6 splash screen is filled
with icons at boot) my system loads _very_ quickly. :)
