I do believe that Apple is trying to rewrite their history to be more
Mac-centric. According to Apple several years ago, it was developed
by the IIGS team as some countries (Sweden being one) would no longer
allow computer to be sold that didn't have a detached keyboard.

When the Mac people were around the GS for checking out Quickdraw
(which they were using to develop Color Quickdraw for the Mac II)
they noticed the ADB stuff and inquired about it and used it.

I seem to remember someone from Apple or related to Apple verifying
this on america offline several years ago.

Of course, I could be wrong.
