Due to the way SIS works, it can not handle binary data (this is a
technical limitations of the network access that SIS uses).  You 
wouldn't need an FTP XCMD at all.  All you need is the SIS program and
someone to write an FTP script and you could FTP ascii files to your
heart's content.  For Apple II users, you would be limited to *.bsq
and *.bsc files and couldn't handle *.shk, *.dsk, nor *.sea.  And with
this method, no files are stored in your UNIX account so one could
download files that is larger than their UNIX disk quota.
