: Due to the way SIS works, it can not handle binary data (this is a

: this method, no files are stored in your UNIX account so one could

Why not have SIS use the binscii command (the source can be compiled
on the Unix machine -- the source is freely available) and store the
resulting files in /tmp. The files could then be FTP'ed to your
machine, where an XCMD could automatically decode the file.

The use of /tmp would negate the necessity of having to stick to
the user's quota.

Further, the XCMD might be enabled to give SHK, SDK, and SEA files
the correct filetypes (since the filetypes weren't available on the
Unix server). Of course, if you have Balloon, you wouldn't need
that feature.

The same discussion about doing http with only terminal access
was already discussed on the eggdrop mailing list. The experienced
users were suggesting that just using the sock protocol could be
used to set up a primitive http page getter.

Of course, if you only wanted the page, you could do it by typing:
lynx -dump http://www.someserver.com/path/to/page.html and
capturing the output.
