Thank god we can directly copy Apple II files to ProDOS disks off a
PC...oh, wait, we can't. Of course, setting up terminal programs
correctly on two machines, finding or building a null modem cable long
enough to reach both machines, correctly sending and receiving the file by
modem at a speed of about 19.2k/sec or lower, is much easier than setting
up the necessary utility on the Mac so you can stick in a ProDOS disk,
copy the file, and then put it right in the Apple II. Don't forget
that if you didn't set up the filetypes right in your terminal
program, you will still have to convert them from txt to bin, or
whatever. 'Course on a GS, you can get modem speeds up to 57.6k. On the
other hand, you can take the disk directly from the Mac to the GS and
unshrink the file.
Seems to me that getting a file from a Mac to a II is child's play
compared to the same thing on a PC.
