Previously (II ALIVE, Summer 1996) I described how to add a three-way
write protect switch to the Disk II drive.
This is a mini-toggle on-off-on switch installed on the front panel.
UP: normal notch-control of write-protect
CENTER: always protect
DOWN: always write
The two lower positions give MANUAL CONTROL over the write-protect function,
while the upper position restores the drive to its "stock" condition.
The BUGG-SWITCH has also been installed in:
Platinum 5.25 drive
IIC internal drive.
Now, for the firt time, I installed twin BUGG-SWITCHES in a Duodisk IIe
twin drive. The DuoDisk has one analog card for two drives. At the
right side of the unit, there is ample front-panel space for the twin
switches, side-by-side.
I can install this unique switch on your drive for $5 plus return
shipping; or two drives for $9.00 plus return shipping.
