I don't think that there's anything simpler than HyperCard GS itself.

You may be right, although the program is LARGE.
Yhe reason I am asking this: There is a HyperCard.Reader for the Mac
and a HS.SYS16 for HyperStudio (small program) which are simple readers.
There is also a sound program which just plays HC sounds.
