AOL just screwed more customers by charging for a full year of service
(as yet unused service) to their credit cards. A friend of mine who is
a customer rep for a credit card company has had AOL customers call and
tell them that they were canceling their AOL account because of it.
AOL apparently did not inform their customers that they were changing
their billing methods.
If AOL did this to their auto debit on checking account customers, with a
$240 debit when they should be debiting $20, and without advance notice,
they will cause a lot of bounced checks for those customers. If they did
it to me, I would demand that they make good on every ISF charge and send
a letter of apology and explination to everyone who got a check that
didn't go through.
Sounds like enough of a reason to create a second round of lawsuits
against AOL.
