It is even more unlikely. I received two e-mails from Charles Turley's
account on February 2. One of them was sent at 9:15, somewhat before he
alleges to have walked through his front door, but not _that_ much more.
The second was sent at 10:40, ten minutes after Dr. Tom is supposed to
have walked in.

The style of these e-mails is, in my opinion, Dr. Tom's style. A
sample:

Stylistic judgement is tricky, but to me this sounds like him. I would
have a lot of trouble imitating this writing style, myself. I sent the
text of these to him, and his explanations are that:

1. He didn't send either of them
2. He never uses that account for e-mail

OK, so here is the thing - we are asked to believe that Dr. Tom has had
his name besmirched on former occasions by someone who walked into his
house and used his account to upload illegal software. We must further
believe that he, far from learning to lock his door, -again_ left it
unlocked and the computer with auto logon when he left home for two weeks.
The mysterious person not only logs on and uploads software to embarass
Tom, but reads his mail, replies to it giving details of his efforts to
benefit the Apple II community, and defends his reputation. Then, maybe an
hour before Tom got home, he sends me one e-mail. Ten minutes after the
time Tom got home, he sends me another one. This person must have
skedaddled just as he heard steps approaching the door.

Here's my problem- if the file uploading was done to discredit Tom, then
the e-mail makes no sense. If the e-mailer was trying to explain and
support Tom, then the file uploading makes no sense. Occam's razor rules
that Tom was home and sent me the messages. If he was home, then he has no
alibi for the LemminGS and Convert.3200 postings. QED

It is sad and ironic that, even with all the enemies that Charles Turley
does have, he is his own worst.
