ROM 3 Variations?

I've noticed a physical difference between two ROM 3 motherboards.
Mine has a both a 32pin 271000 EPROM as well as a 28pin mask prom.
My friend's ROM 3 has two 28pin mask proms. Perhpas I have an earlier
revision of the ROM 3, if such exists?
