Re: Help! GS booting off a Mac File Server

There should be an option under the Sharing Setup Utility on your Mac to
enable/disable Apple II network startup. You'll need to turn that on.
Make sure you're using the *full* Appleshare on the Mac. File Sharing
won't work.

Set your IIgs up for Appletalk (switch out slot 7 with slot 1 or 2 (unless
you have a ROM 03), and set boot device to AppleTalk). Start your Mac up
first. When you power-up the IIgs, you should get a screen which will
allow you to log into a file server (this is a ROM-based utility which
looks like the older IIe Appleshare software). Connect to your Mac. At
this time the gs should boot.

Remember you'll need a "system" folder on the Mac with all of the AppleTalk
(including the boot.driver, etc).

Hope this helps. It has been a long time since I've ran a GS over file sharing.
