Hi;
Thanks for the responds. I first copied the 6.0.1 system disk to the
boot partition of the HD. Then I tried the Install method (with the
accompanying disk swaps :). Finally I hand built the system, copying all
the files in their proper order...I have done this many times for members
of the Winnipeg Apple User Group (I'm the Treasurer and one of 2 local
guru's of the GS...thanks to GEnie and you folks here on CSA2 :).
This motherboard is a Rom0 upgraded to Rom1 that also is one of the IIe
upgrade boards. There is some discolouration around the ADB IC and other
spots/IC's on the MB. I haven't had the time yet to meter the powersupply,
which I will soon...have a 220W PC PS as standby to plug in if the GS is
weak. I _know_ all the required files for GS/OS is present and the proper
size...but with only 1.25M of ram limits me to what I can run to verify the
data and resource forks for file integrity after the copying process. I just
wanted to field this problem here to get a better direction to move in since
my first line remedies did not work.
I first fired this up with a 5.25" drive, IIc monitor, and a proDOS and
DOS 3.3 game disk...I had 0911 errors mainly, but otherwise intermittent
successful boots.
I tested the cards and HD on my other GS and _all_ work fine. Go figure :)
Thanks for the replies and let me know if you think it could point to
something else.
