OMG. ;-)

anyhow- no, you have to login, otherwise you don't get access to the
network. ProDOS is handed to the local machine to launch that
complaint application, and then if you succeed with login, you are
presented a volume to work from, if you fail- go directly to Quit. Do
not Collect $800.

The login application is shimmed between the ProDOS being loaded and
looking for the first .SYSTEM file in the root directory of the volume.
