Not to mention those of use who have built a "poor man's superdrive" by
swapping a superdrive mech into a grey 800K enclosure. That works great, and
having a red in use light instead of amber is the only obvious difference.
Years ago, I fixed my broken unidisk by swapping in an 800K mech I got from a
Mac person. It cost me $20 then, which I thought was great. Nowadays I can
name at least one person who advertises 800K mechs for $10.
