Nevertheless, I tend to agree with Loren on this issue. Basically, my
reasoning is thus: no matter how many chips you change, what truly
matters is the overall effects this change has. In the case of the ROM 00
to ROM 01 this changed some extremely troublesome compatibility problems
and other tremendous problems when running IIgs software. The change
from ROM 01 to ROM 03 was mostly cosmetic: better handling of slots, less
noise, more ram, and all tools in ROM. Basically, a ROM01 and a ROM 03
can both run almost all current software, but a ROM 00 can't run most of it.
That is where the big difference truly lies.
