Uhhh... Here's an idea... Why don't I plug the SERIAL printer into a
SERIAL port instead of the parallel port? God, I feel stupid. For some
reason or other, I always think of printers as parallel devices... I
don't know why I didn't consider the fact that the IW II is serial.

Unfortunately, the cable I made is intended to plug into the female RS-
232 parallel port and not the male RS-232 serial port, so I can't re-test
tonight. Will have to get a gender changer tomorrow (oh, I forgot the
holidays...will have to wait 'til Thursday) and try again. Sorry for
wasting bandwidth on what may well be just a bonehead move on my part.

Having said all that, though, I would still be interested in getting
the IW II control codes. Anybody tired of hearing me mention those yet?
:-) David Empson was kind enough to point me to the owner's manual and
the technical reference manual (ISBN 0-201-17766-8), but of course I do
not have either of those on me. He was also the first to suggest I was
doing something BLATANTLY wrong in my setup. Thanks David!
